Mary Kate Brokans

Mary Kate (MK) has been a member of the TWFK team since October 2022. Mary Kate loves animals and has a specialty for incorporating the therapeutic benefit of animal-assisted therapy into her OT sessions with her therapy dog Tofer.
Mary Kate earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Italian from the University of San Diego and earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from University of the Sciences. She holds a specialty in animal assisted therapy and is certified as an Interactive Metronome provider. She comes to us with experience working in the pediatric outpatient setting in the Maryland and DC area. Mary Kate is incredibly passionate about the field of pediatrics and sensory processing.
When she is not in the clinic you are most likely going to find Mary Kate taking her dog Tofer on a walk, watching sports, and exercising. You may even catch her on the courts playing basketball as she was a graduate assistance women's basketball coach for a NCAA Division II league.
