TOMATIS Intensive

Curve_edited.png

At TWFK, we use the Tomatis method, combine with intensive SI occupational therapy and reflex integration work.  This intensive program is designed to address the underlying functions and give the child a developmental boost.

Tomatis works as a sound-based modality. Tomatis provides contrast of sound frequencies to activate a person's attention to incoming sensory information for better opportunities for sensory integration.

This auditory stimulation program is designed to treat various developmental challenges including:

  • Memory, focus, and attention

  • Sensory Processing/ Sensory Integration

  • Auditory Processing/Listening Attention

  • Language Development

  • Learning Difficulties

  • School based Challenges

  • Communication, engagement and reciprocity

  • Reading and Academic Challenges

  • Social Difficulties – withdrawal, isolation

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • Stress Management

  •  Memory / Concentration / Focus

  • Posture /balance

  • Calmer Pregnancy

  • Music, Voice, & Singing

  • Foreign Language Assimilation and Learning

The Tomatis Method is a technique of sound sensory stimulation. Sound is transmitted by bone conduction caused by a vibration in the upper part of the cranium, and by aerial conduction passing through the ear. This stimulates the entire inner ear, including the parts that affect both auditory and motor functions.

The Tomatis devices are designed to establish a unique sound perception contrast. This activity is much like a gymnastic exercise for the ear, which, thanks to repeated activity and to the progressive mobilization of the ear, optimizes the transmission of the sensory sound message to the brain leading to amazing progress.
