Tofer

Kristofer, also known as “Tofer,” is a trained facility dog provided by the non-profit organization, Canine Companions. Tofer is a 4-year-old, Golden Labrador that loves engaging with TWFK clients of all ages. Tofer is considered a facility dog here at TWFK since he provides care and assistance to various clients during their occupational therapy sessions. Tofer was expertly trained for 6 months at Canine Companions and then was paired with our Occupational Therapist, Mary Kate, during a her 10-day dog handler training. Tofer can perform over 40 commands designed to motivate and inspire clients to meet their OT goals. The clients here at TWFK enjoy brushing him, walking him around the neighborhood, and building complex obstacle courses for Tofer to try.

Sammy

Sammy, also known as “Sammy Hamburger,” is an 8-month-old Pyredoodle (Great Pyrenees and Poodle Mix) who was adopted by our Clinical Director and Occupational Therapist, Marjorie. Sammy is currently in training to become a certified facility dog, like Tofer. He has already mastered the basic commands like sit and stay! Sammy has brought so much joy to our clients while he shares cuddles and works on new commands. We are so excited for all that Sammy has to offer to our future clients!
